Our History

The Nunsmoor Centre was established in 2006 through funding from the European Regional Development Fund, New Deal, Newcastle City Council, and Sure Start. It works in partnership with Children and Families Newcastle and a number of other organisations within the city.

The Nunsmoor Centre Trust was established in 2011, with its aim being to enhance the work of the centre by promoting the benefit of children, young people, and families. It does this by advancing education, protecting and preserving health, and relieving the effects of poverty. It provides facilities for recreation and leisure time. It works to promote, support, and improve the Nunsmoor Centre.

Trust membership is made up of local community activists and interested persons, and includes a local councillor. The Trust welcomes expressions of interest regarding membership, and is also looking for volunteers to help with activities/events and welcomes enquiries.
